Good grief. It's too much. NY's very restrictive gun laws are indeed part of the problem, even though, as you say, why are we even still in the wild wild West. Where I live, in the real West, we do keep guns, and are allowed to defend our homes with them. At least for now... But we shouldn't have to live this way in the modern world.
No offense but why would anyone want to live in that damn NY to even begin with especially the city. It's like folks are setting themselves up to become victims.
Some people like having the cultural enrichment of the city. I know we on the right use that phrase sarcastically, like diversity - but there's a lot to do in NYC. A cousin of mine who doesn't have to worry about money has a rent controlled apt. near the Met. Nice if you can get it. He's not a gun guy despite being mugged in his youth. He's probably developed some street smarts by now, but yeah he's kind of setting himself up. Cultural enrichment and the finer things in life are becoming luxuries that even the rich cannot afford. Even after high taxes. I live in SF now but if I were younger and deciding where to live it sure wouldn't be here.

This is such a great point, Peter. I have an elderly friend who lives alone and is inside her apartment most of the time. She receives all of her information about the outside world from a Gannett-owned newspaper and cable television. She is completely ignorant of today's reality and if I didn't know better, I would assume suffers from dementia or delusion. She does not, and is a highly intelligent person albeit an ignorant one of so many topics.
Always assume the people in your life know basically nothing about racial (and other) realities, because in all likelihood they don't. They may be mildly better-informed than my friend, but the odds are they are not and know nothing about the dangers outside the door.
When you have unpunished criminals released into the public, and you have the same people setting the criminals free, taking away the right of citizens to defend themselves, the motive should be apparent.
Anyone familiar with blacks know they tend to have hair trigger tempers and go from calm to violent rapidly. Avoid disputes with them and be ready to be assaulted otherwise.

Well, here goes: Democrats groom Blacks for ignorance, failure, crime and murder. They run everything in Chicago. Republicans don't. The Dem party is overrun with commies and other trouble-makers. Republicans are not. Conservatives tend to be in the GOP, but I know of no conservatives in the Dem party.
