“"What strikes me now is how much the immigration debate, & the GOP elite, has changed since early 2015 when it was universally assumed that the Donorist-Conservatism Inc. immigration-good-more-immigration-better dogma would forever reign supreme. Now we have the New Yorker Magazine quoting an estimate that 75% of Gen Z staffers working in Republican politics in Washington D.C. are anti-immigration Groypers"
Ancient Athens solved the problem of money by using lottery instead of elections (except for the ten generals)and with two-term limit and an audit at the beginning and end of a term. Might be a good idea for the House. President, being the general in chief, would still be elected. The Senate should be chosen by the state legislatures. This will make donor corruption much harder. The excutive branch should replaced every five years in stages, and be fired at will.
Right? Compared to what we’d GOT, Trump is day and night. I don’t like Iran but the Israeli influence is slowly waning, I’m not a fan of the deficit but then we’re having actual fraud investigations. Guys, always chimp out sure but remember to enjoy the wins!
You really think we are winning Mr.Brimelow? Especially when we have republicans introducing amnesty bills for the illegals, set to be sprung on the American people post midterms.
The change in debate, especially among Republicans, really is remarkable, This bill is not new and isn't going anywhere. but just look at the attacks on it by other GOP congressmen. That didn't happen in the Karl Rove Era.
The party continues to be funded by those who profit from immigration. That is the true sticking point; the average voter is against the immigration tide but headway is difficult with the money on the other side.

Of course, I'm not saying it's enough.
