On That English Soccer Fan's Gun Rights Awakening In The U.S.
I saw Michael Howard admit to Bill Buckley that the Conservatives' handgun ban made no sense
Just saw this on MuskTube:

In response, I Quote-tweeted/ Xd
Which reminds me: After the 1996 Dunblane School Massacre, I met then-UK Home Secretary Michael Howard at one of the last of Bill Buckley's Manhattan dinners to which I was invited.
Howard freely admitted that the sweeping handgun ban that his "Conservative" government was pushing through Parliament would punish the innocent, not improve safety, and was actually just a symbolic response to the public Moral Panic.
But he was perfectly OK with that.
He was simply a certain political type.
(And it worked for him—he subsequently became Leader of the Conservative Party, which is full of such types. Still, he never became Prime Minister).
n.b. Rwandan anchor baby Axel Rugakubana carried out the 2024 Southport School Massacre with a knife.
Also: the Dunblane Massacre perp was apparently homosexual. No move to ban that.
(Footnote: An X reader has complained about this parallel. But I meant it to be shocking. The average British gun owner was just as innocent an my critic believes the average homosexual to be. And all are now defenseless in the face of an increasingly totalitarian government).

Tony Blair pushed through the gun ban after Dunblane when the queer shot up a troop of boy scouts because he wasn't allowed to be a scout master.
