PETER BRIMELOW WRITES: New York State Attorney General Letitia James’ unconstitutional lawfare forced us to suspend our VDARE.com webzine in 2024. But she hasn’t yet got her filthy paws on the Berkeley Springs Castle in Berkeley Springs WV, which Lydia bought in 2020 as our own conference venue when it became clear that a combination of communist thuggery and corporate cowardice made it impossible for us to hold conferences at commercial venues anywhere in the Land Of The Free. The Castle is now owned by a separate West Virginia charity run by volunteers, including Lydia, and is available for private functions, weddings etc. (inquiries here). It has also hosted events by other persecuted patriots and we still hope someday to resume our own VDARE conferences there. Meanwhile, events like the (strictly non-political) Historical Tours that Lydia announces here help us stop the Castle from falling down. The tours are strictly non-political, but if any readers come, I’ll be happy to meet up with them.

Spring is just around the corner, and we are thrilled to announce our 2026 Historical Tour schedule at the Berkeley Springs Castle! Join us for a journey through time as we open our doors to share the stories, secrets, and stunning architecture of this Gilded Age treasure.
Tours are led by our knowledgeable volunteer guides and last approximately one hour and twenty minutes. Space is limited, so we encourage you to book early!
