The level of Indian immigration—call it the “Indian Question”—has been brought up on Twitter by Bo French, a GOP candidate for the Texas Railroad Commission who Tweeted this:
Drawing attention to the number of Indians at the University of Texas is apparently racist—according to Indians at the University of Texas. UT students attacked by Bo French call his comments “disgusting” and too familiar
In a statement Monday night, university officials indirectly addressed Bo French’s comments, calling students at the game Saturday night “incredible fans.”

I wrote about the Indian invasion of Texas recently for White Papers here:
But I also want to point to the work VDARE.com did on this stuff over the past 25 years.
Indian immigration to the US almost didn’t exist for most of America’s history—it was banned by the Immigration Act of 1924, and before that, it was in very small numbers.
In Peter Brimelow’s 1995 bestseller Alien Nation: Common Sense About America’s Immigration Disaster, Indian immigration doesn’t get much mention. The only time it comes up is when the Indian Embassy is asked whether Americans could emigrate to India.
It turned out that, according to the Indian Embassy, foreigners could pretty much only immigrate to if they were of “Indian origin”, I E. racially Indian, like Vivek Ramaswamy or Dinesh D’Souza—an explicitly racial policy.
But the figure of 36,755 Indian immigrants to the United States in 1992 was mentioned. That’s not many compared to what we have now according to the Migration Policy Institute:
Indian immigrants are the second largest foreign-born group in the United States, numbering about 3.2 million as of 2024.
The Indian immigrant population grew 78 percent between 2010 and 2024, triple the rate for the overall foreign-born population.
Indian nationals received 71 percent of all H-1B visas for highly skilled workers in fiscal year (FY) 2024, and more than 363,000 Indian students were enrolled in U.S. higher education in 2024–25, the largest international student group.
Educational attainment among Indian immigrants tends to far exceed other groups: 82 percent of adults held at least a bachelor’s degree in 2024.
While Indian immigration was only a cloud on the horizon no larger than a man’s hand in 1995, by 2000 it was one of the issues raised by VDARE.com.
See, for example, New H1B Scandal - Tax Evasion! by Brenda Walker, September 24, 2000. It turned out that one advantage for US companies hiring H-1B could avoid some taxes, and pay their Indian employees less by taking advantage of the fact that they weren’t paying taxes.
VDARE.com Editor Peter Brimelow’s comment: This was
a classic example of government regulation, of the employment of labor, having unintended consequences - creating a black market opportunity for tax-free workers. Americans, whom the IRS does know how to track, need not apply.
In the immigration area, comments Norm Matloff, UC-Davis computer scientist and one-man army against the H1B legislation , “there are many other related dodges. Did you know that universities don’t have to put taxes on [withhold] their teaching/research assistants from China, due to a tax treaty?”
Similarly, the American economy’s apparent demand for illegal immigration, much touted by immigration enthusiasts, is in large measure the black market shadow of American government.
The H-1B Visa wasn’t even invented until 1990, when it was signed into law by George H. W. Bush, and it’s the lust for cheap (more or less indentured) labor by tech companies that has caused a lot of this immigration.
Unlike illegal Mexican and South American immigrants, Indian immigrants may use less in government services than they pay in taxes. But that doesn’t mean Indian immigration is a Good Thing—it just means they displace a better class of American.
America gets Indian immigrants of all varieties, Hindu, Muslim and Sikh. Sikhs tend to be active, and take over whole communities. See The Sikhs of Vancouver (Canada) by Duncan Hengest, August 8, 2012.
Sikhs have been taking over both the Canadian and American trucking industries, displacing native-born truckers and causing a number of deaths, partly from not speaking English, not being properly qualified, and not being familiar with North American ice and snow:

When there was a mass shooting by a white guy at a Sikh Temple in 2018, Peter Brimelow noted that one possible motive for the attacker, a former truck driver, might have been Sikh displacement of whites from the trucking industry. But of course nobody bothered to ask.
Six people were killed, which is, of course, indefensible—but a much smaller number than the people killed by Sikh truckers—one crash in Canada killed 16 people. Is that indefensible, or is Noticing it indefensible?
Here’s the BBCs answer:
Under Trump, however, the US Government is “reclaiming American trucking”.
Above, I noted that Indian immigration policy, unlike American policy was race-based, although any kind of Indian-origin person could qualify. Indians, specifically Hindus, have their own form of racism: the Caste System.
On her mother’s side, Kamala Harris is a high-caste Indian, but no one cared about that. She was running on her (not very large) percentage of African (Jamaican, not African-American) ancestry:
However, there is a lot of Indian caste discrimination among immigrants to the U.S.: see VDARE.com Roundup: Indian Caste Discrimination, Indian IQ, And Indian Affirmative Action and Brahmins Discriminate Against Untouchables in Silicon Valley.
This is a new kind of racism in America, and has actually led to some Civil Rights lawsuits over Indian on Indian workplace discrimination.
Why would American Tech CEOs take that kind of risk? Well, a lot of Tech CEOs are Caste Hindus themselves. Before Elon took over Twitter, and reestablished free speech, that included Parag Agrawal, the CEO of Twitter:

The phrase “Indian CEO Virus” is not VDARE.com’s, it comes from this post by Indian billionaire Anand Mahindra
Of course, the problem of having Indian CEOs controlling America’s social media companies is that they don’t have the same belief in free speech that Americans do. See:

The question remains: are Americans allowed to ask how many Indians they want in their country?
