That line from the Declaration Of Independence was bitterly on our minds at VDARE.com this time last year

I don’t want to be depressing on America’s birthday but this time last year I was compelled to write this on VDARE.com, which I had edited for 25 years:

Swarms of officers from the regulatory state, in the form of New York State Attorney General Letitia James and her staff have indeed been harassing VDARE.com for more than two years, blatantly aiming at crushing our First Amendment right to criticize immigration policy and America’s ongoing racial-socialist communist coup. And now they have finally succeeded in eating out our substance.

We were forced to suspend the VDARE.com website just three weeks later. And I resigned.

The VDARE Foundation had ups and downs since then—Lydia will be speaking about them soon—but the bottom line is that, incredibly, this unconstitutional harassment by Letitia James is STILL going on.

In other words, despite Donald Trump’s triumphant return to the White House—and despite the Declaration of Independence for that matter—tyranny is still alive and well in America.

But in the spirit of not being too depressing, I also append the list that our James Fulford (follow him on substack here) compiled in 2023 of VDARE.com coverage of Independence Day going back to the beginning.

Various interesting and even encouraging themes emerge from studying this list. For example, the attempt, spearheaded by the Treason Lobby mouthpiece Wall Street Journal Editorial Page, to reinvent Independence Day as Immigration Day, seems to have been abandoned. Indeed, it has more recently been suggested, by the late, great podcaster ZMAN, that Independence Day might be regarded as Juneteenth for the Historic American Nation—the nation that had evolved here before the disaster of the 1965 Immigration Act.

Happy Independence Day!—and, hopefully, even happier ones in future.
